Fifteen
kilometres from Varna are the stone forest
(Pobiti Kamani) and the Aladja Monastery.
There are tourist resorts with water sports
and entertainment facilities to the north
(St Constantine, Sunny Day, Golden Sands,
Albena) and to the south (Sunny Beach, Nessebar).
Further to the north, there are good diving
sites (e.g. Shabla or Cape Kaliakra) with
shipwrecks and Thracian artefacts. Alternatively,
there are bird habitats and wetlands to
visit. The mountains are an hour's drive
to the southwest.
The
following trips can be made from the villa:
· Excursions on the Black Sea (oceanography,
ecology, navy, diving, fishing) and on the
River Danube (culture, environment/wildlife).
· Visits to the sights of Varna (Archaeological
Museum, Summer Festival, Orthodox Cathedral,
Opera), places of interest within the region
(Stone forest, Aladja Monastery, the mountains,
the palace gardens at Balchik, the Srebarna
Nature Reserve, Lake Durankulak, the old
capital of Veliko Tarnova, Thracian ruins),
thermal baths (St Constantine) and holiday
resorts (Albena, Golden Sands, Sunny Beach,
Nessebar). |
