The Black Sea forms Bulgaria's eastern border. The name Black Sea bears no relation to the colour of the water, which a clear blue. The Black Sea is warmer, clearer, less saline and less subject to tides than the North Sea. It has one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe and offers endless opportunities for rest, relaxation and recreation. The Black Sea coast is also Bulgaria's most developed tourist area. There are impressive resorts all along the coast.
